Sometimes life hands you moments that make your heart race and your smile stay glued to your face. I got the chance to ride in a McLaren 2019 570S Spider the other day, and wow… what a rush! The engine roared, the wind whipped past, and for a few unforgettable minutes, I felt completely alive.

It wasn’t just about the car — it was a reminder to grab experiences, try new things, and embrace the thrill when it comes. Whether it’s stepping up to a karaoke mic, yes I did that also, on New Year's Eve, first time ever or chasing your own adventure, life gets more exciting when you say yes.

BVSD Updates: Enrollment & Weather

• Classes Resume: Students return from Christmas Break on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

  

   

• Enrollment Decline: The district reported a larger-than-expected enrollment drop of 1.9% this year. The School Board is currently discussing long-term strategies to manage these demographic shifts, which could impact future resource allocation.

  

   

• Weather Fallout: The district is reviewing protocols after high winds forced rare school closures right before the break (Dec 19).

  

   

4. Lafayette City Council Vacancy The City of Lafayette is accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the City Council.

• Deadline: Applications are due by December 31, 2025.

  

   

• Process: The Council will interview candidates and appoint a replacement in early January.

Boulder Business Farewell Lula Faye Fiber, described as downtown Boulder’s only remaining yarn shop, is closing its doors on December 31, 2025. It marks a significant loss for the local crafting community.  There is still Maverick Fiber Arts in Lafayette, it also has a wide selection of yarns, patterns and fiber arts supplies as well as supporting local artists.  After visiting the wool and goods vendor, you'll find the Brewing Market conveniently located next door.

"Erie Town Center" Moves Forward The Town of Erie  has approved a development agreement with Evergreen Devco to build the new Erie Town Center at the northwest corner of County Line Road and Erie Parkway.

• What’s coming: A new grocery store, restaurants, retail shops, and public plazas.

   

• Timeline: Construction to address historic coal mine safety under the site is set to begin in 2026.
