However, no other significant sex differences were found in terms of symptom severity. The research included 668 patients, with 91% being women. Results showed that women had a higher tender point count and lower symptom severity. Possible explanations include differences in pain threshold and hormonal influences. The study also highlighted the importance of reevaluating diagnostic criteria for fibromyalgia. Future research should focus on exploring sex-related differences in diagnosis and management of fibromyalgia. |
